Federal Government is targeting April this year to settle outstanding debts owed power generating plants in the country as part of steps taken to provide incentives for the continuous operation of the plants for improved power generation and supply.
While at Egbin power plant in Lagos, the Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu also says Government is taken decisive steps to facilitate access to foreign exchange for generation companies so as to sustain their operations and improve power supply.
This is in addition to ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and gas suppliers to address gas supply constraints and facilitating debt repayment.
Federal Government, the Power Minister says is committed to finding solutions that will benefit the entire sector and contribute to its long-term sustainability.
