The president who returned to the villa by helicopter met immediately with the federal executive council and other senior government officials appreciated the prayers, enormous goodwill and support he enjoyed from Nigerians while on vacation.

The president assured them that he is feeling much better to perform his responsibilities.

Vice president Yemi Osinbajo commended the president for upholding the constitution and reposing confidence in asking him to act in his absence.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has welcomed President Muhammadu Buhari back to the country after his medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

A statement from the national publicity secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi says the party believes that President Buhari is now well rested and has returned with new vigour and optimism to fix the challenges facing Nigerians and fulfill the promises the APC made during the 2015 elections.

Divergent Views over Custom Duty on Old Vehicles    

The need for the Nigerian custom services to focus more on trade facilitation rather than just revenue generation is crucial.

While speaking on the recent pronouncement by the custom spokesperson to check import duties of old cars, guests on good morning Nigeria said the action is unconstitutional and likely to cause rancour.

It was total rejection for the recent position of custom to collect import duties on old cars.

They said Nigerian custom should not be looking at import duty at this point in time the country is in recession but rather look at other means of generating revenue for the country.

Speaking on the issue of policy they said there is need for custom to adopt more friendly policies for economic growth.

Some the issues highlighted is the challenge of custom duty certificate authentication, issues of extortion and corruption in the sector.

Emphasising a close look at the operations of the Nigerian ports is important to avoid a shutdown.

Put an End to Restiveness, Senator Ndoma Egba urges Niger Delta Youths

Appeal for inclusion of FHA in Housing Programmes

The senior staff association of statutory corporations and government owned companies has appealed to the ministry of power, works and housing to include the federal housing authority in the national housing programmes of the present administration.

The union says the inclusion will enable the FHA to meet its special housing target for low income earners.
