Collapsed Lugu Dam May Affect Paddy Rice Farmers In Sokoto

Water has no enemy according to Nigeria’s musical ICON late Fela Anikulapo Kuti but when water over flows its bank like the Lugu  dam did in Wurno Local Government Area of  Sokoto State the result is devastating.

The incident occurred at Gidan Modi village and there is every likelihood of its negative consequences on Paddy rice farmers and surrounding villages in the area. Since the September 2012 flood, the dam has been posing numerous challenges despite efforts by the Sokoto state government to reduce the plight of the flood victims.
