GUSAU:Court orders return of vehicles Seized from from fmr Zamf Gov’s residence (copy)
A Federal High Court sitting in Gusau has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and four other respondents involved in the seizure of vehicles and some other valuables from the residences of former Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle to return them within 48 hours.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Aminu Bappa directed that all the confiscated property along with their comprehensive inventory be brought under the custody of the court.
The Court also gives an interim order restraining the Police and other respondents from taking any further step on the matter pending the hearing and the determination of the substantive motion filed by the former Governor on the matter.
The case is adjourned to 28th June 2023.
It would be be recalled that the police along with personnel of the DSS and NSCDC, purportedly acting on a Court order, had on 9th June 2023 conducted a search on two private residents of the immediate past Governor of Zamfara State located in Gusau and Maradun towns and impounded some vehicles allegedly belonging to the State Government.
