Apex Court Reserves Judgement on Adamawa Governorship Poll

The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in an appeal filed by the governorship candidate of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 governorship election in Adamawa state, Aisha Dahiru Ahmed to challenge the victory of governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

The Adamawa state governorship election petition tribunal and the Court of Appeal had dismissed Aisha’s petition and appeal, that she won both the election and a supplementary election conducted by INEC in the state, prompting her appeal before the apex court in the land for further determination.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and the PDP, argued that INEC results showed that he convincingly won the 2023 Adamawa state governorship election.

However, the five-man panel of Supreme Court Justices after listening to the submissions of both parties, adjourned the matter to a future date, for judgment.
