Atiku’s Legal Team Seeks Adjournment on Hearing of the Petition at PEPC

The legal team of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 25th February 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has Tuesday sought adjournment from the presidential election petition court to enable them tidy up their documents.

Austin Anyebe of our judiciary desk reports that the application was made by the lead counsel Eyitayo Jegede following the incomprehensive schedules of documents he sought to tender before the court.

At the commencement of hearing, he moved to tender certified through copies of forms ec8bs from 10 local government areas of Kogi state out of the 21 local government areas pleaded in the schedules of documents saying they await remaining ones from INEC.

This move did not go down well with the court who enjoined the counsel to tidy up his documents in line with the pleadings as agreed in the pre-trial report.

To this end the court granted his application and adjourned to Wednesday 7th June 2023 for further hearing of the petition.
