                                          President Buhari Will Not Shield Babachir

For those who are wondering what next after the sack of former SGF Babachir David Lawal and the former DG of the NIA Ayo Oke, the presidency says with the administrative action taken by the president, all other actions will be taken by relevant government agencies on the matter. senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity Garba Shehu says the position of the president therefore is that investigative agencies which have already commenced investigations of the two officers removed from office will go on with their work without any interference or hindrance. The president who is fully conversant with the provisions of the constitution will not stop the investigation of anyone because he has no such power under our laws. this is a decision of the supreme court. The president under Nigerian laws can, through the attorney general enter a nolle prosequi to stop an on-going trial.He may upon conviction, order a pardon. beyond these, the president cannot order investigative agencies to not investigate anyone and does not intend to do in this, or any other circumstance. based on his wish and desire for a strict observance of the law, the president expects the EFCC, ICPC and such agencies to proceed with ongoing investigations.. when and where they have reasonable grounds to charge former or serving officers to court under our laws, they do not require the permission of the president to do so.

The Profile Of New Secretary To The Government Of The Federation

The new secretary to the government of the federation Boss Gida Mustapha who replaced the sacked Babachir David Lawal is a lawyer by profession, a management consultant, politician and businessman who has spent many years in the political arena. born in Adamawa state,  Mr. Mustapha attended Hong secondary school in Adamawa state and north east college of arts and sciences in Maiduguri, Borno state. He earned his bachelor of law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1979 and was called to bar in 1980. He was a member of the constituent assembly (1988 -1989).  chairman, people’s solidarity party in defunct Gongola state from 1989 – 1990 and state chairman, social democratic party, Gongola state  from 1990 – 1991. He was a gubernatorial candidate for the defunct SDP in Adamawa state in 1991 and also deputy national chairman of the defunct action congress of Nigeria [ACN] from 2010 to 2013. He was a member of the APC presidential campaign organization mobilization in 2015 and member APC transition committee in 2015. He is also a member, APC board of trustees.

NPC Commences Phase 4 Enumeration Area Demarcation

The national population commission has commenced the phase four enumeration area demarcation exercise in 13 local government areas in the country. chairman of the commission, Eze Duruiheoma speaking at a media briefing in Abuja said the exercise will end on 19th of November this year.

NCPC Pilgrimage Service Providers Sign Agreement.

One air carrier and two ground handlers have signed a contract agreement with the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC As approved service providers for the 2017 pilgrimage exercise.  the executive secretary of NCPC Rev. 23 states in the country recorded overall growth of 20 percent in internally generated revenue last year from 687 billion naira in 2015 to 821 billion naira in 2016. Following the signing into law the north-east development commission bill, the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari has congratulated the government and the entire people of the north east on this major milestone. mrs. Buhari particularly commended the role played by the leadership of the national assembly and house committees on IDPS, refugees and north east initiatives under the chairmanship of Sani Zoro. she urged the appropriate authorities to ensure effective implementation of the act with optimism that it will bring the needed Success to the people of north east ravaged by insurgency. mrs Muhari has been a key player in the struggle for the

Minister Of Education Presents Laptops To Selected Unity Schools

A new batch of 330 computer laptops have been distributed to selected federal unity schools across the six geopolitical zones under the federal government/sdg for ICT programme for the girl child.
