NITDA To Champion Local Content Development

NITDA, Abuja: The Director General of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami reiterates his support for the development of local content technologies in Nigeria.

Dr Pantami made this remark when the management of Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) paid a courtesy visit to the Agency’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja to solicit for NITDA’s support in promoting CWG as an indigenous local technology provider.

The DG pledged the Agency’s support for local content technologies, urged the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to improve on the quality of their products and services after sales.

“I will have a meeting with all registered OEM’s in Nigeria with the view of coming up with a strategic and actionable plan on how to improve on the quality, and quantity of computer gadgets being manufactured in the country” he said.

Speaking earlier, the Managing Director/ CEO of CWG, Mr James Agada appreciates NITDA for advocating for local content development,adding that CWG will be willing to partner with the Agency in the areas of eAgric, eHealth, eGovernment using local technologies.

Agada revealed that,Computer Warehouse Group started operations in 1993, principally to cater for the hardware projects; the company sold Dell Computers to individuals.
