FG Partners Plateau State On Illegal Mining

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi says the Federal Government is concerned about the illegal mining operations and the unsafe mining practices going on in the states especially in Plateau State which is considered as the hub of mining in the country
The Minister made the remark when the Plateau State Governor, Barrister Simeon Lalaong paid him a courtesy call Friday in Abuja.
Fayemi while expressing Federal Government’s willingness to partner with Plateau State Government to address the illegal mining in the state urged the state government to organize farmers into co-operatives.
He said government is prepared to support them with funding.
The Plateau State Governor in his response assured the Minister of the State Government’s commitment to addressing the issue.
