Customs To Clear Unwanted Checkpoints On Borders, Warns Importers
Nigeria and Benin Republic have renewed commitment to the facilitation of tackle and transit between the two countries to ease business and protect the goods and people.
The agreement was reached in Cotonou, at the bilateral meeting between the Customs Administrations of Nigeria and Benin Republic.
In a related development, the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted 16 containers at Apapa Sea Port in Lagos, falsely declared as paper board and machinery, but discovered to contain car tyres.
Comptroller General of Customs, Colonel Hameed Ali, while inspecting the consignment re-affirmed the service’s resolve to fight corruption.
