water-resourcesThe Federal Government says the provision of Water to Nigerians in an affordable and sustainable manner is a priority it is determined to pursue through partnerships with all tiers of government and the private sector.
Water Resources Minister, Suleiman Adamu stated this at the opening ceremony of the 23rd regular meeting of the national council on water resources.

About 60 million Nigerians are said to lack  access to clean water.
This critical issue has again drawn stakeholders from across the country to Abuja towards finding a lasting solution.
The theme of their discourse is “refocusing water and sanitation for achieving sustainable development goals in Nigeria”.
The technical committee under the chairmanship of permanent secretary, federal ministry of water resources, Rabi Jimeta has done its bit in discussing solutions to challenges in the sector.
The ball now in the court of the national council, water Resources Minister, Suleiman Adamu says there’s no looking back for the Federal Government in fixing the sector.

This commitment he said the Buhari Administration has demonstrated by recalling the water bill and national water policy to drive the determination.
Development partners believe in the potential of Nigeria as they expressed commitment in supporting the country towards realization of the goal.
Access to clean water and sanitation is placed 6th among the 17 sustainable development goals, SDGs.
However, the consensus at this event is that without prioritizing the attainment of safe and clean water, achieving all other goals might be a distant call.
