Court Turns Down Olisa Metuh Travel Request

Standing trial before Justice Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja on a charge of four hundred million naira fraud.

Chief Olisa Metuh has earlier been granted bail by the court but, as part of the condition of the bail, he was made to deposit his international travel documents with the court.

It was on these bases that Olisa Metuh now had to make a request to the court to release the document to allow him travel for treatment.

He told the court that he has sustained a back injury from a fall.

But in his ruling Justice Abang said while Olisa Metuh has tendered to the court a medical report for his treatment, no corresponding letter was shown in the court as to which hospital will undertake the treatment abroad.

The court therefore turned down the request for the release of his international passport.
