SON Launches ‘Operation eFlush’ Against Substandard Products
So far, substandard products have contributed negatively to Nigeria’s economy and have been a trait to human life. The Standards Organisation of Nigeria SON has setup Operation eFlush which is geared towards enforcing standards in the country.
Apart from posing as danger to people’s health, substandard products also contribute negatively to the economy. Statistics from the regulator indicates that more than 40% of products in the Nigerian Market are substandard.
In 2014, over N5billion worth of substandard products were intercepted and destroyed by the regulator, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON. Operation eFlush is geared towards enforcing standards in the country.
Members of the civil society groups were later inducted into operation eFlush to serve as vanguards of standards across the country.
