Dredging of River Niger To Be Completed In November

CaptureThe dredging of river Niger in Nigeria which is the removal of sand and mud from the bottom which makes the water deeper for various benefits, such as use of the sand for construction and easy passage for ships and cargos is expected to be completed by November.
On the site of the dredging, men and equipment were seen, though work was moving at a slow pace. The Project manager Engr. Sylvester Odili said the sand will be supplied to Julius Berger for construction of the second Niger bridge which will improve transportation. He also said that the dredging will help avert flooding.
