House of Representatives to investigate investors involved in Rice importation

The House of Representatives has adopted a motion to investigate investors involved in Rice importation whose actions are capable of scuttling the Nation Self-sufficiency drive in Rice Production, and thereby deny the Federal Government the needed revenue in Import Duties. Representative Simon Araba of Kauru Federal Constituency, Kaduna State who sponsored the motion said the investors have exceeded their approved quota for imports and owe the Federal Government about twenty eight billion naira.
