Yobe Launches 16 Seater Buses
Yobe State Government has taken delivery of fifty units of brand new sixteen seater buses, jointly procured by the State Ministry of Youth and Social Development and the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P. The buses were launched as part of activities to mark this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
While launching the buses, Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, announced a 50% discount for the beneficiaries who will be selected from 17 LGA’s of the STate, describing the gesture as a deliberate and sustained drive to enhance effective movement of people goods and services for economic empowerment.
Earlier, while presenting the buses, Yobe State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Aji Yerima Bularafa said the beneficiaries will offset the cost of the vehicles under a 30 month period, noting that the vehicles which are to be used specifically for transportation is one out of numerous empowerment programs for Youth by the State Government.
