Mamman Kontagora Dies
Former Works Minister in the Babangida administration and Deputy Chairman SURE-P, Major General Mamman Kontagora is dead. He was 69 years old. President Goodluck Jonathan expressed shock over the news of the death, meanwhile he has sent a Federal Government delegation to his interment.
Late General Mamman Tsoho Kontagora was born onthe 20th of April 1944 in Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State.
Commissioned as second lieutenant at the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna in 1967, late General Kontagora held many command and staff appointments including Commandant school of Military engineering and Commandant Nigerian Engineering Corps.
He also held political appointment which include Minister of Works and Housing, chairman Advisory Audit Panel ABU Zaria, sole Administrator ABU Zaria and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
