More than 1.7 million candidates applied for the 2013 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, a majority of them opting for the paper-pencil test.

Imo State has the highest number of Paper-Pencil test and dual based test applicants by State, while FCT and Kebbi States have the lowest numbers. Professor ‘Dibu Oberinde says the board has put in place adequate security arrangements in some volatile states.

Meanwhile, 91,160 applicants for computer based test will write their examination between 18th of May to 1st June in seventy centres.

145 visually impaired candidates and 196 in-mates from Kaduna and Lagos prisons are expected to write the UTME in 378 examination Centres.
