FG Commences Assessment
The appraisal to be carried out quarterly is to asses the roles Nigeria is playing in the African led international support to Mali in two folds. These are in strategic and operational levels where the country has carved a niche as the largest troops contributing Nation securing the capital city of Bamako and it’s northern axis from criminal elements.
The assessment mission took the Minister of State Defence Olusola Obada to the Malian Defence Ministry and AFISMA headquarters for closed door sessions with his counterpart and For Commander Major Gen. Usman AbdulKadir. The Minister and her entourage were also at the AFISMA NIBATT headquarters where she inspected the Guard of Honor, operational equipment and addressed the Nigerian troops which the Chief of Army Staff described as good to go.
