Okupe on Nigeria – US Relationship

“The relationship between Nigeria and the United States of America, is cordial, solid and very strong.” The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe stated this while briefing journalists on the meeting with the USA Councilor Political, Mr. Gregory Lawless who was on a routine visit to his office.

Dr. Doyin Okupe said after the closed door meeting that their discussion focused on corruption, security, regional cooperation and insurgencies in the country.

On the relationship between the two countries, he noted “it is warm and good.” Dr. Okupe assured Nigerians that with the new suggestions on how to tackle insurgencies in the land, activities of Boko Haram would soon be overcome.
