Navy Showcases Hydrographic Wins

The Nigerian Navy has dropped anchor at the NAF Conference Centre, marking World Hydrography Day with a splash.
Defence Correspondent Naja’atu Tijjani reports that the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar declared the event open, emphasized the critical role of the Nigerian Navy in hydrographic advancements in addition to its mandate of securing the maritime domain and protecting critical oil and gas assets of the nation.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla’s keynote address was a treasure trove of insights, showcasing the Navy’s efforts at charting new waters in hydrographic surveys and mapping. In a tidal shift expected to make waves in boosting Nigeria’s blue economy, the Navy also launched NG5502 “approaches to Lagos” hydrographic chart and the National charting scheme of Nigeria indicating navigable zones and the country’s tilt towards self sufficiency in hydrographic strategies.
