The Sokoto State Police Command has apprehended a group of notorious unrepentant armed robbers, who were involved in various armed robbery operations and also recovered their arms and ammunition.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer Asp Ahmad Rufai says on
20th of March 2024, a team of operatives attached to State CID Sokoto, acting on an intelligence report, intercepted Obinna Nwachukwu, Ibrahim A.Bello AKA Pastor, and Abdulrashid Sulaiman all of Sokoto Metropolis Along Kwannawa-Dange Shunni Road, Sokoto in possession of three (3) fabricated revolver riffles, six (6) Ak-47 ammunitions, seven (7) cartridges, a master key, three (3) mobile phones, sellotape and a red super cub motorcycle.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to have been on their way for an operation at kwannawa area, Sokoto, to rob a business woman Jamila Tawosi who was given as a target by her former employee Emmanuel Samuel, who was later arrested too.
The statement says the Commissioner of Police Ali Hayatu Kaigama commends the police officers outstanding display of bravery, dedication and professionalism.
Their dedication and bravery are a testament to their commitment to protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Sokoto State and Nigeria at large he added.
