Abuja rain on election day is pre-onset rainfall -NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency says the rain recorded in some parts of abuja on election day is pre-onset rainfall for the year 2023.

The rain which started about past four lasted almost thirty minutes in the central area of the Federal Capital Territory.
Director General Of The Nigeria Meteorological Agency, Professor Mansur Matazu in a chat with correspondent Musa Baba Aliyu says the rainy season is yet to commence.
He says what triggered the rain is abundant solar energy coupled with the harmattan dust which served as condensation nuclei leading to the short lived storm.
Based on the 2023 NiMET prediction, the rainy season is expected to begin in early march around niger delta, south-south states
