Tijjani Tumsah, Vice Chairman PCNI Reiterates Commitment to Support Communities in the North East

Alkasim Abdulkadir, Abuja: The Presidential Committee on Northeast Initiative has again reiterated its commitment to support the return of displaced persons to communities in the northeast of Nigeria.

The Vice Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Tijjani Tumsah gave this assurance in Maiduguri at a meeting with the officials of the Borno State government led by Deputy Governor Usman Mamman Durkuwa.

The meeting was also attended by members of the State assembly officials of the United Nations, Humanitarian agencies, Local and International non-governmental organization and traditional rulers.

Mr. Tumsah expressed satisfaction with the level of work achieved so far in Bama at saying that the committee will collaborate with the state government to reconstruct the highway linking Bama to Maiduguri.

He also assured that farmers would be supported to restart their lies adding all civil institutions would be supported to ensure that Bama returns to normalcy
