A socio cultural organisation, the Benin National Congress (BNC), has urged the Federal Government to rise up to recent security challenges, especially killings in some parts of the country.
The president of the group, Mr Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo made the call in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday in Benin.

He condoled Gov. Aminu Tambuwa of Sokoto State, over the recent killings in the state.
He called on government to strive hard to put an end to the wanton killings in the country.

“We are by all means devastated by this catastrophe. The pogroms and massacres occurring in debilitating proportions are unbearable.
“These challenges have prompted political scholars to question the political rationale of our federal superstructure if federating units are left asunder during precarious security challenges.

“We wish to condole with you and pray that God will unveil the unseen murderers,” he said.

Edokpolo urged Tambuwal to rise above the aura of sobriety and weakness of the spirit by leaving no stone unturned in unmasking the killers.
He however, called on the federal government to restore the fast dwindling confidence of Nigerians in the security agencies capabilities to rooting out all agents of terror.(NAN)
