Mr Najeem Salaam, Speaker, Osun House of Assembly, on Friday urged Muslim faithful to take advantage of the Ramadan fasting period to pray for the country.

Salaam, in a statement, said that the prayer point for the fasting month should be restoration of security and economic buoyancy.

He said the security architecture of some states were already compromised, calling for prayers from all Nigerians and asking them to have faith in the government.

The speaker charged Islamic clerics and preachers to teach the virtues of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) and dictates of the Quran which emphasise high moral standard and Godliness.

He said that the country could not afford violence or hate preaching at this critical phase, appealing that messages promoting peace and harmony should be emphasised for the holy month.(NAN)
