Fake News Circulating on TY Danjuma

Gen. TY Danjuma remains the Chairman of PCNI.

The attention of the Presidential Committee on The North East Initiative PCNI has been drawn to online reports and social media posts on the purported resignation of the Chairman of the PCNI Lt. Gen. TY Danjuma rtd GCON.

The viral report which was first monitored on 247ureports.com was not attributed to any reputable source and furthermore did not obtain any information from the Chairman of the PCNI or any of the appropriate channels of government communications. This statement hereby debunks the reports and states that Gen Danjuma remains the Chairman of the PCNI.

The PCNI hereby appeals to news organizations, journalists, social media users and influencers to first verify stories from the PCNI before publishing.
