Northern Governors Wives Wage War Against Drug Abuse
The problem of drug abuse is a cankerworm eating the fabric of our society and destroying our future generations. This statement was made by the chairperson of the NGWF and wife of Bauchi state governor, Hajiya Hadiza M Abubakar on a special edition of NTA Good morning Nigeria today in
Abuja.
Also speaking, wife of Kebbi State governor and treasurer of the Northern wives Forum, Dr Zainab Bagudu said 3million bottles of syrups like Codeine, Benylin and Tramadol are consumed by youth in Northern Nigeria on a DAILY basis.
To this end, the forum has equipped a skills acquisition and Drop-in-center in the Lokoja Rehabilitation Centre, Kogi State. The center will be commissioned later this month by the wife of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Haj Aisha Buhari. The NGWF is unveiling a holistic framework to tackle drug abuse in our respective states that will equip and enable youths to say NO TO DRUGS.
