Senator’s Wife Donates Empowerment Tools to Women in Kebbi

 

The wife of Sen. Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Hajiya Maimuna Aliero, has donated empowerment tools to women in the 15 wards of Birnin Kebbi Local Government area.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the empowerment tools include sewing machines, grinding and water pumping machines as well as cash donation to three women in each ward.

Aliero, while distributing the materials, said that the empowerment tools would enable women to engage in self-empowerment activities.

She said that it was part of the efforts to encourage women to improve their economic status.

Aliero described women as the centre of every household, saying that empowering them would improve the social and economic development of the community.

She enjoined the beneficiaries to ensure prudent utilisation of the tools to enhance development of the society.

One of the beneficiaries, Maria Abdu, commended the donor for her kind gesture.

Abdu called on other leaders to emulate her as part of the efforts to enhance the socioeconomic status of women. (NAN)
