NHIS Executive Secretary, Usman Yusuf Suspended

The Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, (NHIS) Professor Usman Yusuf, has been suspended.

NTA Reports that the Minister for Health Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole approved the suspension to allow investigation into alleged fraud leveled against the NHIS Chief Executive.

The Federal Government had appointed Prof. Yusuf, as NHIS Executive Secretary on July 29 2016. The National Assembly through the Senate had earlier launched investigations into the activities of the NHIS boss.

The Minister has already directed that the most senior Manager in the organization should take helm of affairs.
