The House of Representatives is considering a bill that seeks to establish the Federal  Capital Territory Metropolitan Management Council .

 

FEC Approves Investigation Into Niger Delta Abandoned Projects

The Federal Executive Council has granted approval to the Niger Delta Ministry to carry out investigation into cases of abandoned projects in the Niger Delta Region.

And the Federal Ministry of Health has received the go ahead order to enter into agreement with May and Baker Plc for the local production of vaccines.

 

Fighting Cyber Fraud

Financial experts under the aegis of nigeria electronic fraud forum say combating the rampaging cybercrime in the financial system is achievable through the political will of the present administration to fight corruption to a halt.

Members of the forum converged on Abuja to tackle the enforcement challenges under the cyber crime act.

The house committee on tertiary education and service held a public hearing on four critical bills and three motions aimed at revamping tertiary education in the country.

Among these bills include making it mandatory for immediate issuance and release of certificates    after graduation and amending the students union activities act 2014 to remo0ve the restrictions of student unionism.

Inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris says the police needs the support of all Nigerians in its new drive to operate within democratic principles and to demonstrate professionalism in line with best international practices.

Jamb registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede has described the intensity of examination mal-practices in the 2017 UTME as unbelievable with more than seventy six thousand results withheld. He stated this while briefing journalists on the conduct of the examination in Abuja.

The 2017 democracy day has been observed in Kano, with governor Gandiye presenting his scorecard to the people of the state.

Normalcy Returns After Navy/Police Fracas

Normalcy has returned to Calabar, the Cross River State capital after the fracas between the Nigerian police and the Nigerian navy.

 

Onyeama Meets Russian Foreign Minister

Nigeria and Russia have agreed to co-ordinate all their efforts in the united nations to eleminate instability in Africa.

This is one of the decisions at the bi-lateral meeting between the Nigerian delegation led by its Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama and his Russian counterpart Segey Ladrov.
