82 Chibok Girls Handed Over to Ministry of Women Affairs

Minister of Women Affairs has formally taken delivery of the eighty two abducted Chibok school girls whom the federal government secured their release recently.

The handing over of the girls signals another phase in their rehabilitation process.

 

Actionaid Advocate Improved Cities for Women

The plight of women across the world is receiving attention as the world moves to create safe cities.

A formost northern educationist Dr. Chris Abashiya has died. Dr. Abashiya died on Sunday May 28th at the age of 78

 

Fighting Cyber Fraud

Financial experts under the ages of Nigeria electronic fraud forum say combating the rampaging cyber crime in the financial system is achievable following the political will of the present administration to fight corruption to a halt.

Members of the forum converged in Abuja to tackle the enforcement challenges under the cyber crime act.

 

Fiscal  Federation (NIPSS)

Departure from the current cooperative federalism of several decades, to fiscal federalism that will address the challenges of regional inequalities and ensure a balancing of equity and efficiency is a gradual constitutional process and not a product of agitation as is currently the case.

Foreign  Affairs Minister Meets Russian Agric Minister

The Federal Government is to collaborate with the Russian Government in the areas of agriculture, oil and gas to upscale the economy of both countries. Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama made this known after a closed door meeting with the Russian Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev in Moscow.  Reports say that the Nigerian Foreign Affairs minister’s visit to Moscow is part of the numerous efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Admistration at strengthening diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Russia.

 

Mrs Buhari Leaves For London 
the wife of the President Aisha Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday morning left Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja for London United Kingdom.
Mrs Buhari is going to uk to visit her husband President Muhammadu Buhari who is on medical vacation. Reports say  that the wife of the president expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their support and prayers for the president who is resting according to his doctors orders.

The Nigerian Air Force has continued to intensify clearance operations in the north east region. The airforce component of operation Lafiya Dole conducted an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission in Parisu, Borno State.

Minister of Niger Delta, Usani Uguru Usani says the platform established by the ministry to enable each to the agencies participating in the Niger Delta region development not to duplicate functions will save the country’s resources and check corruption.

He said this at the second quarter meeting with governors of the region and chief executives of international oil and gas companies.

 

Onyeama meets Russian Foreign Minister

Nigeria and Russia have agreed in the united Nation’s to eliminate instability in Africa. This is one of the decisions at the bi-lateral meeting between the Nigerian delegation led by Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama and his Russian counterpart Segey Ladrou.
