Acting President Hails FG Achievements at Social Investment Score Card

Impact of the Social Investment Programmes of the change administration has been described as significant and a testament of Nigeria’s ability to change the narrative of “who knows who” in employment process.

Acting president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo noted this at an event that presented the score card of the scheme in two years.

Senior special assistant to the President on the scheme Hajia Maryam Uwais while speaking on the impact of the four components of the scheme expressed the federal government’s resolve to remain focus on achieving results that empower lives and communities.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo called on Nigerians to continue to cooperate and support the Buhari Administration to enable it realize all the best intentions and ambitions for the country.

In a nationwide broadcast marking the second anniversary of the administration, the acting president said the most difficult phase has been put behind.

Nigeria was experiencing food insecurity and poor economy when President Muhamadu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo took over the mantle of leadership of the country two years ago.

But today, Nigeria is not only producing enough food for it citizens but also a major exporter of staple crops to West African countries.

Donation to Refugees Commission

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons has handed over shelter materials worth millions of naira to victims of insurgency in Adamawa State.

The Federal Commissioner Sadiya Umar Farouq who handed over the materials said the federal government is committed to ensuring proper resettlement of victims.

 

Girl Child Pep Talk

Parents and guardians have been urged to pay more attention to the well being and psychological development of the girl child, especially at the adolescent stage of life.

This was the thrust of the maiden Girl-Child Pep Talk Programme for FCT schools, organised by Helpline Foundation, a non governmental organisation in Abuja.
