Abuja NITDA on Cyber Attacks

The Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency ‘NITDA’  Isa Ali Pantani says, his agency is on top of its game to ensure that the nation’s cybre space is not compromised.

Mallam Pantani gave the assurance in an interview with Adebola Brookslyn Sunday. He advised individuals and government to regularly update their operating systems with latest patches.

 

Science & Tech on Collaboration with Sports Minister

The ministry of Science and Technology is currently corroborating with sports ministry in advancing a strong base in sporting activities in Nigeria.

Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonaya Onu stated this at a meeting with member of the organizing committee of Dr. Akanu ibaim super cup competition led by Dr. Ademola.

 

Almakura Converts Criminal Hide out for Development

The slum and hide out of criminals between the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State in old Karu Orange Market in Mararraba Area has been cleared by Nasarawa State Government for development under the state’s site and services scheme.

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has performed the ground breaking ceremony promising to replicate same across the state.

Chairman Receives NBA Taskforce

Chairman of the board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Senator Victor Ndoma –Egba has called on the Nigerian Bar Association to recognize the importance of the Niger Delta and make it a focal point of attention.

Senator Ndoma-Egba made the call when he received members of the Nigerian Bar Association Niger Delta Task Force at the commission’s headquaters in Port Harcourt.

 

Education Experts on Student’s Mentorship

Education experts have made strong case for improved student’s mentorship in Nigerian schools and self motivated graduates.

Member of the Nigerian Academy of Education gave the indication while on a rescue mission meeting in the Nigerian educational system.

Professor of counseling psychology and human development, Bridget Sokan said collaborative mentorship through planning, funding and networking with veteran teachers is crucial.

 

Education Minister Monitors JAMB

An attack of a jamb official by a candidate at a centre in Abia State almost marred the examination in that place but for the quick intervention of security agents.

In spite of this, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination, nationwide.

 

Executive Director WASCAL Visits ECOWAS Commission

The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) has urged the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to implement the memorandum of understanding signed to address the issue of climate change.

The executive director of the centre Professor Jimmy Adegoke said this when he visited the ECOWAS commissioner and water resources in Abuja.

Meanwhile, as the new French President Emmanuel Macron resumes work political affairs analyst, Dr. Lanre Adebayo says he is optimistic that macron’s party  is likely to have more seats in the parliament and France might not change its focus on f Africa.

Dr. Adebayo who was speaking on Good Morning Nigeria says Emmanuel Macron represents a unifying force for France.

The National Youth Service Corp says the training of youth corps members towards self reliance is a passion that will be pursued vigorously.

Dg NYSC Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure said this while inspecting a skill acquisition centre in Gombe.

 

House C’ttee on Automobile Plan

Manufacturers in the automobile industry have urged the national assembly to make laws that would enhance the full implementation of the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP).

The plea was made in Kano when the House of Representatives Committee on Automobile, Non-Access to Forex visited the largest vehicle manufacturing plant in the country.

 

Israel/FG on Farmers Conference

The Israeli Government and the Federal Government are to partner in organizing a national farmers conference in July this year.

Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NNPC, Rev. Tor Uja at a dinner hosting the Israeli envoy to Africa, Gideon Behar in Abuja.

With the efforts of the federal government towards revamping the Nigerian economy especially in agriculture, the Israel envoys expressed enthusiasm to share ideas and experiences in agriculture with Nigeria.

 

JAMB Candidates Prevented from Examination

Candidates sitting for the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination were prevented from gaining access to the examination venue at the Ladoka Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho following a protest by students of the institution.

 

NAPTIP and WOTCLEF Partner on Human Trafficking

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other related matters, NAPTIP and Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation WOTCLEF, are agreed that the scourge of human trafficking can only be fought frontally with aggressive awareness campaigns at the local, state and federal levels.

The consensus was reached in Abuja at a meeting with WOTCLEF board and trustees.

 

NNDC Projects Akwa Ibom

Over thirty emergency road repair projects awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in  Akwa Ikom  State have been completed some residents who spoke with a correspondent, commended  the present management  of the commission for fast tracking the completion of the projects.

 

NNPC to Resume Exploration In Chad Basin

Following the return of normalcy to the north – east, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, and nnpc is to resume oil exploration in the Chad Basin.

Group managing director of the Nnpc Dr. Maikanti Baru represented by the Chief Operating Officer, gas and power of the NNPC, Saidu Mohammed gave the assurance when he visited the governor of

Abuja: Senate Commends AEDC

The senate has commended the management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company for the provision of two badgers and three hundred life jackets to save lives at the reverine areas of Kogi State.

The chairman, Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) Atai Aidoko Ali gave the commendation when the managing director led this team on a courtesy visit to the national assembly.

 

NBC Retreat

To meet emerging trends in the broadcast industry and the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting, the Nigeria Commission Broadcasting commission has commenced a review of its broadcasting code.

Reports from Kano say that broadcasters from different media organizations are attending the retreat expected to last three days.
