The British Chartered Institute For IT Confers NITDA DG With Prestigious Fellowship

Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) FBCS, Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has been conferred with the Fellowship of British Computer Society (BCS) the leading professional body of IT experts globally. The decision was reached after rigorous assessment bordering on eminence, authority and experience in the IT profession.

The fellowship is in recognition of achievements and contributions to the IT profession globally. It is evidence to use the letters FBCS after name, meaning Fellow of British Computer Society. It is for IT professionals who demonstrate a commitment to advancing standards; strategic leadership and best practice, and encourage these in others.

In a congratulatory message sent to Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the Chartered Institute for IT states: “Congratulations on your Fellowship and welcome to BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. As a Fellow of the institute, you take your place among the most senior and respected IT professionals.”

It’s evident that Dr Ibrahim has demonstrated leadership in the Nigerian IT sector. As a Director General and Chief Executive Officer of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa has influenced significant changes in Regulation and IT project clearance for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to achieve common goals and promote government digital services.

According to BCS, “Fellowship is one of the Institute’s most valuable assets. Combining a wealth of knowledge and experience, BCS Fellows enable the Institute to have real influence in the industry.”

On his conferment, Dr Ibrahim promises to give something back to the profession by taking this honour, as an opportunity of being involved, by demonstrating the importance of the profession to industry and the public, and promoting the Institute’s values and mission.
