LIFESTYLE: THE BATTLE BETWEEN MY EARS, THE SPIKES OF BEING OPEN-MINDED

On a scale of 1 (close-minded) and 10 (open-minded), how open-minded are you? Who are you when no one’s really watching? Let’s try, to be honest here guys.

When trying this out, you really don’t want to be the judge and the jury at the same time. Also, try asking friends about what they think. Their answers might be as sincere as they might appear shocking as well.

So, against popular beliefs from those who ‘claim’ they know me quite well. Well, yeah I’m also open-minded with a caveat of course (lol). Let’s just say I’ve dined on both sides of the table. So which really makes the meal taste sweeter, I’d say it all depends on who is on the table with me.

Open-Minded/Close-minded Dining

Often times when I speak to people, I begin with a blank slate by giving them the benefit of doubt. In the course of our conversation, it’s quite easy to spot which spectrum of light they radiate (white or black). The result often determines my next course of action.

I tend to see open-mindedness as a strength in itself, especially if you’re one that’s high on learning new things. The more open you are, the more comely people rate you as.

On the flip side, there’s always more to it than meets the eye. Do you want to really be that person that makes time for anything and everything? More like a garbage bin. I guess not. Hence, the need to adopt the strategy for being close minded regarding some things. Let’s talk business. You meet a potential client who is interested in using your service(s), at that point in time you really don’t want to say “Well, I can take anything from you” right? That response is quite cheesy and cheesiness isn’t a great business strategy.

I trust you can see my spin on this. Depending on the type of deal, person or environment you’re presented with, ensure you’ve got the right switch turned on between your ears.

If you could run just one switch off being either open-minded or close-minded as auto-pilot for the rest of your life, which would you choose and why?

I’d love to hear from you.
