Youths Should Take Advantage of NITDA’s Intervention Programs – DG NITDA
NITDA, Abuja: Director General of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has urged Nigerian youths to take advantage of the Digital Capacity Building Centres (DCBC), Digital Job Creation Centres (DJCC), and other IT Intervention programs provided by Agency.
Pantami made this call when the management of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi (ATAP Bauchi) paid a courtesy visit to the Agency’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, to seek collaboration in promoting ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The DG said that NITDA is a regulatory body charged with a mandate to regulate Information Technology for sustainable national development in Nigeria.
Pantami said “one of the Agency’s priority is capacity building, providing special intervention programs such as instituting of Wide Area Network (WAN), establishment of IT Innovation and incubation hubs, award of both foreign and local scholarships to post graduates and PHD students.”
Speaking earlier, the Chairman Governing Council of ATAP Bauchi, Alhaji Ali Umar Misau, revealed that the institution periodically review the education policy to address problems in the society.
Alhaji Misau added “the institution has identified ICT Innovation and entrepreneurship as an area capable of curbing youth restiveness in the society.”
He further stated that the institution currently runs a Certificate, National Diploma, Higher National Diploma programs in computer science.
On his part, Dr Agu Collins, Director Information Technology Infrastructure Solutions (ITIS) at NITDA advised the institution to forge a strong tie with the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Office for National Content, which are both subsidiaries of NITDA.
