Dr. Pantami Reaffirms Support For Development of Local Content Technologies
NITDA, Abuja: The Director General of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami reaffirms his support for the development of local content technologies in Nigeria.
Pantami made this known while receiving the CEO of Newton & Froodle IT Limited, Mr Umar Abubakar and his team to the Agency’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, to seek collaboration in promoting Owfar an indigenous instant messaging App.
The DG while pledging the Agency’s support for local content technologies, urged Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to improve on the quality and quantity of their products to meet market demands and also services after sales.
Mr Umar Abubakar earlier revealed that Owfar is an indigenous instant messaging App which provides users with Nigerian themes, catchphrases and emojis that promise to enrich user experience.
Abubakar said that Owfar is available for free download at the Apple IOS market, and will be made available on the Android market soon.
