President Buhari Intervenes In Gambia Political Impasse

High-level talks are now ongoing in Banjul the capital of Gambia towards finding lasting solutions to the political impasse in the country following the rejection of the December 1 presidential election results by President Yahya Jammeh.

President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Banjul international airport at half past eleven in the morning local time yesterday was received by the vice president of the country and other senior government officials.

The president later joined his West African counterparts from Liberia, Ghana, Sierra Leone as well as representatives of the African union and the United Nations for preliminary discussions on the best way forward.

CAN Commiserates With Victims of Uyo Disaster
