FRSC To Ensure Adherence to safety measures in construction areas of Lagos-Ibadan expressway
The federal road safety corps says it is determined to ensure that safety measures are observed in the construction areas of Lagos-Ibadan expressway through effective traffic management.
Corps marshal Boboye Oyeyemi stated this while inspecting safety signs on the on-going reconstruction work on the expressway.
Lagos-Ibadan expressway is unarguably one of the busiest roads in the country. It is the corridor to Lagos, the commercial nerve center of the country. It has witnessed increase in vehicular movement over the years and in most cases recorded several road crashes.
Following the commencement of reconstruction work on the road, the federal road safety corps says it would ensure that road users are saved from undue hardship due to omission r commission of construction companies.
The Corp marshal who inspected the construction areas directed the companies to strictly adhere to safety standards. He promised that the FRSC in discharge of it’s responsibility will continue to collaborate with the companies to ensure that safety measures are taken in the construction areas.
The Corp Marshall also met with the two construction companies to address some of the challenges identified that could undermine safety in the area.
