Nigeria Civil Service Week Celebration Ends An Award Night

The 2016 Nigeria Civil Service week celebration which kicked off with a special Juma’at Prayer held at the National Mosque, Abuja on July 29 is expected to end today, Friday 5th August 2016 with a Dinner and Award Night ceremony at the Conference Hall, State House, Abuja.

This was made known in a press release signed and issued by the Mohammed Manga, Assistant Director, Media Relations, in the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on Friday in Abuja.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita had on Saturday 30th July 2016, held a Media Chat and Interactive Session with Nigerians at a Radio-link Programme with Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, (FRCN), after which she led Federal Public Servants on a Walking Jogging/Novelty Football Match which was held at the National Stadium Abuja.

hos1The Civil Service week witnessed on Monday July 31, a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of comprehensive housing scheme for the Federal Civil Servants across the country, a project of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) programme which was performed by President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented at the occasion by the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Alhaji Mustapha Baba Shehuri.

The week-long event for the celebration also witnessed a press briefing by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita held in her office in Abuja on Tuesday August 1, where she intimated Nigerians on her milestone achievements so far and her vision for the Federal Civil Service.

As part of the activities marking the week, Mrs. Oyo-Ita later commissioned the HCSF Fitness Centre, Digital Service Centre, Knowledge Acquisition

Venue and Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) Infrastructure after she had hard a family interaction with the Federal Civil Servants at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN).

The long week events marking the 2016 Nigeria Civil Service Week Celebration witnessed yet another annual Public Service Lecture / Creative and Innovative Writers’ Book Exhibition which climaxed the week-long event on Thursday August 3, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Auditorium, Abuja.

The theme of the Public Service Lecture was: “INNOVATION IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE: TOWARDS OVERCOMING HARSH ECONOMIC REALITIES.”
