Edo  State APC Governorship Primary

Godwin Obaseki has emerged as the flag bearer of All Progressives Congress APC for September 10 Governorship election in Edo State.

Godwin defeated all other 11 aspirants who contested the election.

The APC Governorship primary which started in the morning yesterday went into the night under close supervision of Governor Aminu Masari  and Opeyemi Babatunde .

Godwin polled 1619 to emerge winner while Pius Odubu scored 417 votes, Kenneth Imansuangbon polled 276.

The Edo State governorship primary attracted 2873 delegates from 192 wards.

The APC candidate Godwin Obaseki promised to ensure more dividends of democracy.

He enjoined all party members to rally round him in the September 10 governorship election.

Federal Government Denies M.O.U on Return of Refugees

The Minister of Interior, lt. General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau has denied that the Federal Government has signed a tripartite agreement on the voluntary repatriation of Nigerian refugees from Cameroon.

In a statement signed by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Bassey Okon Akpanyung, the minister said that only tripartite talks were held between Nigeria, Cameroon and the United Nations high commissioner for refugees, which are expected to culminate in the eventual signing of an agreement between the heads of state of Nigeria and Cameroon in July, 2016.

He said the meeting discussed a framework for the voluntary repatriation of Nigerian refugees being hosted by the Cameroonian Government.

He also appreciated the brotherliness extended to the Nigerian refugees by the government and people of Cameroon.

Minister of Science & Technology on Promoting Research 

The Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu says the federal government will continue to support research capable of promoting industrialization of the nation.

He said this during an official visit to the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi in Lagos.
