BREAKING: Louis Van Gaal Sacked as Manager of Manchester United
Louis van Gaal’s position as manager of Manchester United is over with Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea Manager, likely to replace him. This was contained in a statement from the club today.
Van Gaal two days ago led Man United to FA Cup victory, but this will not suffice to make it retain his position following a less than impressive season, which saw a group stage exit from the Champions League and a fifth-place finish domestically.
Fans’ believe his undoing was his “heavy-handed” style at the club, which did the most damage for his goings with players. The 64-year-old had lost the respect of the Old Trafford dressing room to such an extent that, even if a top four finish had been achieved, he would not see out the last year of his three-year contract in Manchester United.
