Police Foils Kidnappers Plans To Launch Attack

The Nigeria Police said that it has foiled plans by kidnappers to launch an attack in Yenagoa on Monday, 28th March, 2016.

“Following a tip-off that the suspected kidnappers wanted to launch an attack, anti-vice personnel were dispatched to Famgbe Community in Yenagoa Local Government Area where they laid ambush.” The Police said.

The team accosted a Nissan Primera car and when the vehicle was searched, four male occupants were arrested, namely; Frank Freeman, aged 39 years, from Ekelga, Lucky John, aged 35 years, from Burutu in Delta State, Paul Okio, aged 32 years from Burutu in Delta State and Sagbama Samuel, aged 32 years from Ughelli in Delta  in Delta State.

The Police recovered two AK-47 rifles with three fully loaded magazines each.

The team also went to Famgbe Waterfront where their  in a speed boat opened fire on the Police and escaped.

The four suspects sustained bullet wounds and have made useful confessional statement. Also the hoodlum’s operational vehicle was recovered.

The Police added that investigation is still in progress.
