University Of Abuja Holds Its Convocation After Six Years

The procession signals the commencement of the combined convocation of the University of Abuja. Congratulating the graduating students, Hindaltu Umar Abdullahi urged the University to ensure education is followed with comprehensive research, retreating Federal Government resolve to privatize technical and vocational education.  She noted that, Government alone cannot address the educational needs of the people as the private sector also has their role to play.

Four eminent Nigerians were awarded Honorary Degrees for their contributions towards the Nation building. Emir of Zazzau also Chancellor of University of Abuja, Dr Shehu Idris commended the University of Abuja management for restored glory of the Institution, urging the graduating students to see the new fit as that of service.

The event saw a total of Twenty Five thousand, Eight hundred and Seventy Eight students made up of, Twenty thousand Four hundred and Sixty One undergraduate students and Four thousand, Two hundred and Sixty One post graduate students spanning 2009/2010-2014/2015 sessions.
