Minister of Labour, Ngige Solicits ILO For Strategic Rehabilitation of IDPs

Labour and Employment Minister, Chris Ngige, has requested the assistance of the International Labour Organization to develop a strategy for the training and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons affected by insurgency in Nigeria.

The Minister who made the request at the 13th African Regional meeting of the ILO in Addis Ababa said Nigeria needs a comprehensive crisis response strategy to capture them on the social security net.

The Minister who stressed that the Federal Government of Nigeria is committed to the realization of decent work agenda for Africa, emphasized that Nigeria has recorded significant milestones in some themetic areas through the establishment of institutions that facilitated gap closures in core skill acquisition areas.
