Pan African Cultural Congress Advocates Investment in Creative Industry

The 4th Pan African Cultural Congress held  in Harare, Zimbabwe has underscored the importance of  Arts and Culture with a call  for aggressive investment in African Cultural and Creative Industries by Governments of member Countries.

In an exclusive interview with NTA, the Director General of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization, Nigeria, Dr. Ferdinand Anikwe who chaired the congress said the Country made a good showing and consequently nominated to host the next meeting  of the Pan African Body scheduled to hold next year.

Dr. Anikwe, in deference of the challenges of youth unemployment, said the meeting specifically identified the creative industries as very important vehicles for youth empowerment and socio-economic development.

The promotion of Cultural Diplomacy among African Countries was also identified as central to the A.U’s Agenda 2063 by the Congress.
