Nigeria and U.S Reaffirm Commitments to Foster Security and Governance
Minister of Interior, Lt.Gen. Abdulrahaman Danbazau and the United States, Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle have reaffirmed commitment to initiatives that would force requisite capacity for security and governance issues.
Gen. Danbazau spoke against the backdrop of current security realities and the search for credible and efficient reforms in the country.
He described the security and governance initiative, SGI, driven by the U.S embassy, as a holistic and mutually beneficial inter-agency collaboration between the U.S and Nigeria.
US Abmassador to Nigeria, James Entwhistle said he called on the minister to rekindle a positive relationship of 2years standing with the ministry during which the security and governance initiative platform has served their interest as democratic partners.
The ministry of Interior is the heartbeat of Internal Security and superintends over the Nigerian Police, Prisons, Immigrations, Civil Defence and the Fire Service.
