Osinbajo Advocates Proper Coordination and Strengthening of Civil Societies for Rehabilitation of IDPs

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-kanemi and Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says, proper coordination and strengthening of capacity of Civil Society Organisations are key to the success of rehabilitation and resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The Vice President says this while declaring open a two-day Northeast humanitarian stakeholders engagement in Maiduguri

He stated that the civil society community has done so much in supporting both the federal and states government through funding and humanitarian services and even lives.

Vice President Osinbajo revealed that the Federal Government will soon unfold the plan to aid existing and new civil society organisations especially those in the north eastern part of the country to further as it in the fight against insurgents and terrorists groups.

The Vice President commended the state Governor Kashim Shettima and the people of Borno state for resisting the terrorists groups.

Vice President Osinbajo also paid a courtesy visit on the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-kanemi.

The Vice President has since returned to Abuja .
