President Buhari Condemns Burkina Faso Coup

President Muhammadu Buhari has added his voice to those of other World leaders as he condemns the detention of the Interim President, the Prime Minister and other Ministers of the transitional Government of Burkina Faso in a coup.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity President Buhari and Nigeria align with ECOWAS, the African Union and United Nations in rejecting the contravention of the Constitution and transitional charter of Burkina Faso by the Presidential guard.

Nigeria urges the defence and Security Forces of Burkina Faso to keep faith with the agreed transitional programme for the return of democratic rule.
